Reflecting on 24 Hour Startup | AGTECH, we’re eager to see if any of the innovative agtech solutions will be brought to life in the coming months! Participants showcased impressive talent, executing their visions in a short time frame, all while being boots on the ground—connecting directly with producers and conducting real-time market research at the show. We’re excited to see how these innovators will continue to shape the future of tech in Saskatchewan. They’re just getting started!

Here is a look at the WINNING innovative solutions that were developed by the teams during the event…

PEOPLE’S CHOICE WINNER – $1,000

Company Name: Agrovision AI

Problem: Plant disease and natural threats are harming yields/operation success for producers.

Solution: AI LLM/Explainable/Comuter Vision capabilities; analyzing plant images and providing responses and recommendations.

BEST TECH WINNER – $2,000 + 3 month Collider Membership

Company Name: AgriMap

Problem: Data is scattered everywhere, takes farmers forever to gather information (disease, weather, crop health), critical data about their farm, resulting in arriving too late to act and without warning.

Solution: A real time personalized agricultural intelligence heat map and converting data into actionable insight.

FIRST PLACE WINNER – $2,000 + $5,000 in legal services from McKercher LLP

Company Name: Penrider

Problem: Farmers spend a lot of time walking around calf pens to check if any calf is sick. Early signs like low activity diarrhea, ear droop or not drinking are easy to miss and this leads to higher costs and sick calves.

Solution: A drone with simple AI that flies over the pens and checks the calves for early sickness. It looks for signs like low movement, dirty tail, fever, ear droop, and calves standing alone. The farmer gets a quick alert and a daily health report on their phone.
