Building for the Long Term: Cultivator and McKercher LLP Renew Five-Year Partnership

McKercher LLP and Cultivator powered by Conexus are proud to announce the renewal of their Legal In-Residence and sponsorship partnership for a further five years, extending one of the longest-standing professional partnerships in Saskatchewan’s startup ecosystem through 2031.

McKercher LLP has served as Cultivator’s official Legal In-Residence partner since 2020 and has supported the Cultivator community since its earliest days. Over that time, McKercher LLP’s Technology and High-Growth Startups team has helped more than 200 Cultivator companies navigate their legal needs and has contributed hundreds of hours of in-kind legal services, walking alongside founders from their very first incorporation through hiring, fundraising, growth, and exit.

The renewed partnership reflects a shared belief that empowering founders from inception, with proper structure, vetted founder agreements, and sound intellectual property foundations, allows startups to move faster, raise with confidence, and build companies that last. It also reflects McKercher LLP’s founder-first approach to legal services: grounded in professionalism and driven by creativity, curiosity, and genuine care for the founder journey.

In total, the renewed agreement represents more than $500,000 in combined monetary and in-kind support from McKercher LLP over the five-year term.
