AGTECH ACCELERATOR

Saskatchewan is home to vibrant startup culture and a robust ecosystem of world-leading agriculture and food companies. There is no better time than now, and no better place than Saskatchewan to lead the growth of agtech in Canada and beyond.

The AGTECH ACCELERATOR brings agriculture and technology together to accelerate the growth of Canadian agtech startups built to solve global problems. Built with founders and farmers as the foundation, the program is designed to help startups achieve product-market fit, build lasting industry relationships, and scale with purpose.

The What

The When

The AGTECH ACCELERATOR will host one cohort each year from April to July — ensuring optimal time for program recruitment, company growth and investment.

Cohort 5 Outline:

  • Recruitment: Nov 14, 2026 – Jan 11, 2026
  • Kick-off week: April 13 – 16, 2026 in Regina, Sk.
  • Virtual programming: April 27 – July 17, 2026
    • Includes weekly 1:1 virtual mentorship sessions
    • Includes 2–3 virtual group sessions
  • Finale week: July 20 – 23, 2026 at Ag in Motion, Langham Sk. and in Saskatoon, Sk.

The Where

Our cohorts follow a hybrid program model with in-person and virtual components. This includes two weeks where founders have the opportunity to be boots on the ground from the Cultivator HQ in April and on-site at the largest outdoor farm expo in Western Canada, Ag in Motion, in July.

Cultivator has the advantage of operating in a hyper-connected ecosystem like Saskatchewan with the opportunity to leverage key contacts and resources across Saskatchewan and the ability to deliver programming to founders across Canada.

FAQ

What is the ideal stage for participating companies?

  • The ideal stage for participating companies typically includes those at the pre-seed to seed stages, with a minimum viable product (MVP) or a product already in the market. Companies at this stage have solidified their concepts, are ready to validate their product-market fit and scale their business. Pre-seed companies may also be considered if they demonstrate strong potential and a clear go-to-market strategy.

What is the time commitment?

  • Our cohort offers a blend of in-person and virtual weeks. Founders are required to attend in-person sessions for two key weeks—kick-off and finale week—running from Sunday to Thursday, with full-day schedules. For the remaining weeks, founders are required to join scheduled virtual cohort calls and meet with mentors to stay engaged and connected throughout the program.

What if I can’t attend in person?

  • If the founder or CEO is unable to attend in person, we recommend sending a representative in your place, such as a co-founder or senior executive who can actively contribute and make decisions. Because the program is tailored for founders, we strongly recommend having a founder participate.

What is the cost for founders?

  • While there is no financial cost or equity taken to participate in the AGTECH ACCELERATOR, the true investment is your time and engagement. The program is designed to deliver maximum value through both in-person and virtual participation, which requires a meaningful commitment from founders.
  • Cultivator strives to remove as many financial barriers as possible for founders:
    • Up to $500 in flight or mileage reimbursement will be provided
    • Hotel accommodations are covered during both in-person weeks
    • Most meals will be provided, though participants may need to cover occasional breakfasts or dinners.

Is there guaranteed investment? Do I need to be actively raising?

  • There is no guaranteed investment and you do not need to be actively raising to join the program, but we will introduce you to investors, providing valuable connections for future opportunities.

Who will we be connected with?

  • You will have the opportunity to connect one-on-one with industry leaders, mentors, producers, investors, expert speakers, and partners.

How does the AGTECH ACCELERATOR referral program work?

  • If you know a standout agtech company that would benefit from the AGTECH ACCELERATOR programming, you can submit them through our Referral Application. Anyone who refers a company that is successfully selected for Cohort 5 will receive a $1,000 referral bonus as a thank-you.
